LOTD: October 25, 2017

My thoughts on the products:

I love the finish of this Too Faced Peach Perfect foundation, but the color is a hair too dark for me. I will be exchanging it because I don’t want to wait until summer to use it! It applies best with a beauty blender, and the staying power is very good. The Tarte Shape Tape is a very good concealer. It blends out well with either a beauty blender or a brush, and the coverage is extremely good. I thought I was really going to like the Laura Mercier Eye Primer, but my eyeshadow ended up creasing by the end of the day (I had been wearing makeup for about eight hours). I was pretty disappointed in that, but I’m going to keep testing it to see if I can make it work. The more I use the Clinique High Impact Mascara, the more I really like it. It gives my lashes a beautiful fluttering look. The color of the Maybelline Brow Pomade is perfect for me, and I really enjoyed using this product when it was new. However, now that the tip is gone, it’s gotten more difficult to apply. The Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick in Sell Out has a very comfortable and long-wearing formula. It survived me eating too meals, both of which were oily. The color is gorgeous and natural, and I can see this color becoming one I reach for often.

Polyvore Monday: Hello Halloween

Wrap dresses are incredibly flattering, and this color is perfect for Halloween. The headband is a great way to get into the spirit of the holiday without going full out. I kept the rest of the accessories and lipstick understated to really let the dress and headband shine. If you wanted to amp up the outfit a little more for a party, you could do a fun makeup look to compliment the cat ears.

Sephora Haul: October 2017

I discovered an old Sephora gift card lying around, and combined with the Friends and Family sale last week, I decided to treat myself! My order came in on Monday, and I’m super excited to try everything out. Here’s what I got:

Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation (Warm Beige)

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick (Gingerbread Man – currently sold out)

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick (Sell Out)

beautyblender blendercleanser solid

Laura Mercier Eye Basics (Wheat – reward)

Boscia Skincare for Your Selfie (reward)

Here’s a picture where I’m wearing the foundation, eye primer, and lip color in Sell Out:

My first impressions are that I love the foundation, but it’s a tad too dark for me right now. The eye primer didn’t work super well for me; my eyeshadow had creased at the end of the day. I LOVE the lip color and formula. I will continue to test these products out and let you know what I think!

OOTD: Engagement Pictures

We got our engagement pictures back last week, and I absolutely love them! I love the color of the dress, especially with this time of year. I thought the cut and silhouette were extremely flattering for my body type. I paired it with one of my favorite pairs of heels and simple jewelry. For my nails, I used “Pink Pong” by Sally Hansen. It’s beautiful gel color, but it didn’t hold up as well as my Sensationail colors. For my makeup, I did a basic but glowing look.

I love the deep emerald of this velvet dress. It’s a beautiful color for fall, especially when coupled with gold and blush accessories.

LOTD: October 11, 2017

The only new product I’ve used in this look compared to my last post was the Fenty Foundation. I seem to be in the minority with this product…I love the shade range, but the foundation doesn’t really work for me. I’ve tried three different applications – with my fingers, with a beauty blender, and with a brush. The only one that worked remotely well was with a brush. The other two application types looked very patchy, and the rest of my makeup wouldn’t blend into it. Furthermore, no matter how much I set it, it transfers throughout the day if I even touch my face, and I’ve never had that problem before…even having oily skin. I’ve seen that this foundation also doesn’t work for dry skin, so I would really only recommend this foundation if you have normal skin. If you zoom in on my face, you can see it didn’t do a super great job covering my check blemishes, and I had even tried multiple layers as suggested. All in all, definitely not my cup of tea. IMG_1755.JPG

Rimmel London Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder (004 Sandstorm)
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (Ethereal Light)

NOTW: OPI “Cement the Deal”

I’ve been using exclusively gel colors for the past few months, so I decided to change it up on Friday. First, I primed my nails with a coat of Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Nourishing Nail Color. Then I applied two coats of “Cement the Deal” by OPI. Finally, I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. I’m loving this shade as a transition into fall!

Polyvore Monday: Cozy Fireside

This outfit is perfect as the weather starts to cool down. The dress will keep you warm without overheating. The scarf helps with wind and allows you to adjust to changes in temperature. I adore the bright gold of these earrings paired with the dark colors of the dress and scarf.
