Where Have I Been?

As you all know, I have not posted much at all the past few months. The reason is I have been crazy busy with school! I had two AP exams to study for, and then after that, it seems like all of my teachers went crazy with homework and tests. Now that school is over, I am going to try my hardest to catch up on all of the posts from at least the past month. I have a lot of ideas for posts and videos, so I cannot wait to get started! I know for a while there I was definitely more into beauty related posts than fashion, but I feel like now I am more into fashion! I’ll do a collective post with links to everything once I finish making up the posts I missed. :)

2011

I can’t believe how much my blog has changed over the past year! I started out my first month only averaging nine views a day, and most of them were from my family. However, now I am up to almost sixty views a day, with a personal record of 125. :)

Thank you guys for supporting me this year, and I look forward to 2012. :)

P.S. I’ll be doing a design change soon!

2012 New Year Resolutions

Here are my 2012 Resolutions

1. Stop drinking soda! I don’t drink a lot of soda anyway, but I really want to cut it out of my system. The only time I’ll allow myself to drink a soda this year is if it is a special occasion.

2. Work out at least two to three times a week! I really should be working out more times than that, but I’m trying to think realistically here.

3. Do better in school! I’m not a bad student, but I really want to bring my grades up. My hopes are to stay in the top ten throughout the end of the school year.

4. Make a new friend! This one shouldn’t be too hard, but I’m looking forward to it. :)

5. Eat healthier! This one is self explanatory. :)

6. Keep my room cleaner! This one’s for you, Dad.

I have some other mini things I want to accomplish throughout the year, but these are the main ones. :)

What are your New Year’s resolutions?

Secret Santa 2011

This year, I participated in three different gift exchanges. The first one was during my tacky sweater party with my friends. For this exchange, we chose to do gag gifts for Secret Santa. Secret Santa is when everyone draws a name, and they have to buy a gift for that person. In our case, the gift has to be funny but useful. I drew Tori’s name. I got her grinch poop, aka green m&ms. I put the m&ms in a cute tin from Target and put a grinch poem on top.

My Secret Santa was Sid, and she got me a princess themed coloring book and tooth brush!

The second gift exchange I was involved in was with my cheerleading squad. In contrast to the other party, we chose to do white elephant. White elephant is wear everyone brings a gift of a certain price limit. When beginning the exchange, everyone picks a number. The person who draws number one gets to choose first. Any person after that can choose to steal someone else’s gift or choose their own from the pile of gifts. However, once a present has been stolen three times, it is exempt from any more stealing. If a person has their gift stolen, they get to choose another from the pile.

I brought a cute scarf and a pair of earrings. I actually wanted to keep them for myself! Taylor ended up getting my gift. At first I got Emily’s gift, which was an iTunes giftcard. Brienna ended up stealing it though, so I got Shelby’s gift, which was a lotion.

The final group gift exchange I participated in (outside of family) was a white elephant game for FCCLA, the club I am president of at school. We scheduled a dinner at a restaurant for the whole club, but only the officers and our sponsor ended up showing up. It was still a lot of fun, though! I purchased a pair of earrings and a little mini box of caramel chocolates from Target. Olivia ended up getting mine, and I got Ida’s present, which was earrings and peanut butter chocolates from Target.

Prank Time

To do this prank, you will need:

* Panty-liners

*Window crayons

*Your friends’ cars

*Permission from said friend’s mom

Megan, Casey, Sidney, and I went to Kroger and picked up our supplies. Then we went to Ben’s house because we knew all of the cars would be there. While the guys were in the basement, we snuck to their cars. Just as we were about to start, Ben’s mom came out. She actually gave us permission to prank their cars, as long as we didn’t permanently damage them. The best part is she said, “When you girls are done, you can come in for cookies!” It was quite hilarious when Ben found out his mom took our side hahaha.

We took the window crayons  and wrote inside jokes all over the windows. (If we hadn’t planned on telling them what we did, we wouldn’t have made it obvious with the inside jokes.) Then, we wrote more jokes on the pantyliners and stuck them on the spokes of their wheels.

After we were done, we hid behind his house and called them to come out to their cars. We could hear Ryan’s reaction all the way from the back!

Here are the pictures of what we did:

Never Forget…

Although I was only six when it happened, I still remember September 11, 2001. I remember our teacher turning on the television to see what was happening to our country. I remember watching it and not understanding why the planes hit the World Trade Center. I remember the immature kids in my class, reenacting what they saw on the television. Even at that age, I knew what was happening was wrong. Why would people fly planes into buildings? Though that question and the many others I had have been answered since then, it is still hard for me to comprehend why someone would want to take that many innocent lives.

I remember  going home to my mom and sister and watching to find out more about what happened. I remember my mom being terrified because my dad was on a plane that day. In the days and weeks after 9/11, I remember wanting to help. I gathered what I thought was a lot of my money and donated it to Red Cross.

I was going to write a post commemorating that tragic day ten years ago, but I just found a post about it that I don’t think I can top. Instead, I decided to write about what I remember about that day.

Alexis, the writer of “My Everyday Runway” blog, wrote a really meaningful post about today. Click here to read the post. I highly suggest you read it; she did a really good job with it.

May those who passed away that day rest in peace. ♥

Check out this blog!

I just recently found this blog that I really like on Blogspot. It’s called “Little Ramblings,” and you can find it at http://missmaryelizabethrose.blogspot.com/. I really like her blog; it’s different from most I’ve seen. I also like how she has posts about other subjects on there. If you’re interested, check it out. :)

Also, she is having a Too Faced giveaway right now. Click here to find out how to enter.

200th post!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot believe this is my 200th post…it seems like just yesterday that I started this blog!

I remember getting my 100th view and being SO excited, and now I get more than 1,000 a month! Thank you guys so much for reading my blog; it means a lot to me. :)

Here are some stats about my blog:
(You may have to click on the pictures to see the words better.)

I can't believe how far this blog has come! What amazes me that most is that I don't know most of the people who find it. :)

Although I know numbers don't matter, I still got really excited when I saw my latest statistics. :)

Some of the search terms that have led people to find my blog are SO strange. The two topics that lead to my blog most have to do with Megan Fox, locks of love, and having an oval face shape. haha!

It's hard to believe how many people have looked at my "Sunglasses for Your Face Shape" post. I never knew it would become that popular!

I've never even heard of my top referrer!

Here are my YouTube videos with the most views. My blog and YouTube channel have definitely helped each other out! Though I think it's kind of weird that my post about the Almay eyeshadow has 30 views, while the video has almost 500. haha

Summer Blog

One of my friends is going to be in Nebraska for the rest of summer, so she made a blog to keep us updated with what’s going on in her life.

So my other friend and myself decided to make one also to keep her updated.

If you’re interested, here is the link: http://ashleynicolesummer2011.blogspot.com/

I’ve already updated it with what’s happened during my summer so far, and I’ll be sure to keep it updated as the summer goes on. :)

I won something?!

It wasn’t anything big, but I’m still excited!

One of the girls I’m subscribed to on YouTube, ButterflyBee304, decided  to have a contestsince she reached 80 subscribers. The grand prize was a set of OPI Nail Polish set, and the four runner-ups got to be featured on her channel for one month. I decided to enter, figuring I had nothing to lose.

I didn’t win the grand prize, but I do get to be featured on her channel! I am very excited, especially since she has almost 160 subscribers now! Hopefully my channel and blog will get more exposure now. :)

Thank you, Ashley, for the great contest! Also, thank you for featuring me on your page. :) It means a lot!

Congratulations to the other winners. :)
