Polyvore Monday (Valentine’s Week 2012: Day Six)

I put together an outfit that I think would be so cute for a Valentine’s Day date.

I picked this dress because it looks a lot like a shirt that I wanted to buy about a year ago. To glam it up a bit, I made sure to add accessories that had some glitter and gems but that were simple at the same time. This is definitely an outfit that I would wear on a fancy Valentine’s Day date.

Kristen’s Banquet Outfit (Valentine’s Week: Day Five)

Today Kristen went to my cheer banquet with me. :) The dress that she wore was from Kohls. She wore white sandals, a gem necklace, and hoop earrings.

For her makeup, she put on tinted moisturizer, brown eyeliner, champagne and pink eyeshadow, and black mascara.

She pinned her bangs back for a more polished look.

We had a lot of fun together!

How To French Braid Your Bangs (Valentine’s Week 2012: Day Four)

For today’s post, I decided to do a quick hair tutorial. I will be showing you how to french braid your bangs. I do this look for nearly every basketball game that I cheer at. I love french braiding my bangs because it is something I can do really quickly in the morning when I’m running late, and it looks really cute. :)

In regards to Valentine’s Day I think this hairstyle would look really pretty to wear because it looks good with both straight and curly hair. :) I curled my hair for cheer pictures and did this hairstyle, and I really like how it turned out!

Valentine’s Day Lip Colors (Valentine’s Week: Day Three)

Here are some lip colors that I have that I think would be perfect to wear on Valentine’s Day. Before I put on each color, I used C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve from Bath and Body Works.

Valentine Nails (Valentine’s Week 2012: Day Two)

The other day, I came up with a really cute idea for Valentine’s Week nails using OPI Sweetheart and Finger Paints Red Crackle Nail Polish.

First, I painted three coats of Sweetheart on my nails.

After the last coat had tried, I painted a heart with the crackle nail polish on each of my thumbs. Next time I do this design, I think I will use tape to outline the heart so that the hearts are symmetrical.

If you want all of your nails to be identical, I suggest using the red crackle polish over Sweetheart on each of your nails would still look really cute.:)

Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Today's Outfit

To celebrate the holiday, today I wore a pink ruffle skirt, a grey shirt, a zebra striped scarf, and black boots.

I was reading Seventeen, and I came across some good tips for picking out what dress to wear.

If you are petite, a fitted mini will work in your favor because it will make your legs look longer and fill out your curves.

If you are athletic, you should pick a floaty tank because the loose fit will give your body a soft shape.

If you have a small bust, the recommended dress for you is one that ties in the front because it adds volume to your chest.

Valentine's Day ♥

If you have a curvy butt, a dress with a cutout back benefits you because it can highlight your curves.

If you have curvy hips, a color block dress is for you because a sweetheart neckline helps fill out your top half, while a darker bottom streamlines hips visually.

If your body is an hourglass shape, a scoop neck dress will look good on you because it flatters your bust, while your hips are shown off by a nipped-in waist.

[All of these are paraphrased from Seventeen's March, 2011 issue (pages 52-53)]

Valentine’s Week: Day Six

Today, Kristen is going to be my guinea pig. I decided to do a more theatrical make-up theme going along with Valentine’s Day.

First, I did her eyeshadow. I used a rosy blush color as the base of her eye shadow. Then I took a maroon eyeshadow, put it in the crease of her eyelid, and blended the edges with the base. After that, I took a very light pink, put it above her crease to her browline, and lined her lashline with it. I put a white shimmer eyeshadow in the inner corner of her eye and below her bottom lash line.

You can't really see what the colors look like:(

Then, I partially lined her bottom lashline and put a thin line on her top lashline with purple liquid eyeliner. After that, I drew a fishtail type line coming from her eye with the eyeliner. Finally, I put mascara on just the tips of her eyelashes.

In addition, I decided to add a little heart on her face with the purple eyeliner. I filled it in with hot pink lipliner, covered it with light pink shimmer, and outlined it with silver glitter eyeliner.

The heart!

And finally, I was done.

The final product:)

Valentine’s Week: Day Five (February 12, 2011)

I had cheerleading tryouts today, so I didn’t get dressed up.

The dance that we had to learn involved a lot of getting on our knees, so I wound up with this lovely bruise:

Thank you cafeteria and gym floor.

Thankfully, cover up works as well on knees as it does on the face:

Now I can wear a dress if so desired:)

I didn’t get a picture of how I did my makeup for the tryouts, but I will tell you what I did.

I put a light blue shimmer eyeshadow all over my eyelid. Then I took a dark blue eyeshadow and put it in the crease of my eyelid. I then blended some of the dark blue with the light blue in the middle of my eyelid to create a slight darker color. After that, I took the light blue again and made a line along my lash line. I then proceeded to put a thin line of black liquid eyeliner on my top lash line (the light blue was still visible). Finally, I used a blue eyeliner pencil on my bottom lash line, and I applied two coats of black mascara to my eyelashes.
