Polyvore Monday: Fire Hot

Today’s Polyvore set is called “Fire Hot.”

In this set, I found the shoes first; then I found a purse to match. I really love this color tan, and it’s one of my favorites to wear. I picked out a pair of dark jeans to keep the outfit a little winter-like. I thought that the color of the shirt looked really good with the shoes and purse, and it became a done deal when I found the bracelets. Because of all the browns  in the rest of the outfit and the gold in the bracelet, I decided my statement necklace and rings should be gold as well. Because the other accessories are so loud, I decided to go without earrings. If I were to add them,  I would probably just pick diamond studs. Finally, I decided to keep the makeup neutral since the colors of the outfit are so bright.

Tonight, we went out to dinner for my grandparents’ anniversary. I wore a floral dress from Rue21, a jean jacket that was given to me by a different set of grandparents, black leggings from Rue21, silver flats from Ross, and a ring that I got for my birthday from Hannah.

On my eyes, I’m wearing: Urban Decay Primer Potion (Eden XL), MAC Paint Pot (Rubenesque), Urban Decay NAKED Palette (Virgin, Sin, Smog), MAC Eyeshadow (All That Glitters), Almay Liquid Eyeliner (brown), Covergirl Liquiline Blast eyeliner (Brown Blaze), Maybelline Falsies Mascara, and Ulta Lash Blow Out.

On my lips, I’m wearing: Avon chapstick and NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (Addis Ababa).

My perfume is Promise Me by Aéropostale.

Kristen Does Her Makeup

Last weekend, for our school’s basketball games, Kristen decided to do her makeup. I had worn my Grizzly Green makeup that day, so I suppose she was a little bit inspired by it. A couple of weeks ago, we went to the mall, and the guy at the MAC counter recommended a lipstick that she bought. My mom’s not too thrilled about the color, but I think it’ll be okay as long as she wears it right. Anyway, she used it that night along with her green eyeshadow.

OOTD: January 27, 2012

Today I felt like getting a little dressed up for school. Last night was primp night (post coming soon), so I was feeling pretty good. I wore a dress from Target (I think), pink-red pantyhose from Target, boots from Kohls, a black jacket from Rue21, and a necklace that I got for my birthday from Kristen.

NOTW: January 26, 2012

I actually took these pictures a while ago, I just forgot to post them. I am wearing #10 Lightening by Sally Hansen Insta-Dry. This color is mostly opaque in one coat, though I used two for good measure. It’s one of my favorite colors for summer, and I nearly always wear it over Thanksgiving break (which is when these pictures were taken).

Kristen’s Hair: Straightened

The same day that I curled my hair, I helped my sister straighten her hair for the first time. After she washed it and blew dry it, I made her spray her entire head with heat protectant. I then helped her straighten all of her hair. Her hair is not curly, but it does have a little bit of a wave to it. It took me about five minutes to straighten her hair. Here is how it turned out:

Polyvore Monday: One Year Anniversary!

One year ago today, I made this blog. About 280 posts later, I have to say, I am addicted. I absolutely love writing them! Having this blog has definitely fueled my desire to be a fashion journalist. :)

Curly Hair

Last Monday night, I curled my hair for cheerleading pictures the next day. It was my first time doing it completely by myself, and I actually think it turned out pretty well.
